Step 1: Create a freebie.

 

A freebie, or what we call a lead magnet in the marketing world, is one of the best ways to start your email list. The best freebies are the ones that solve ONE small but important problem for your target clientele or audience.

 

It’s a surefire way to attract people who will most likely need your product or service. It opens up the opportunity to start a conversation with them. Simultaneously, you can capture their information to keep the connection going.

 

Step 2: Map out your client journey.

 

The next best thing to do after creating your freebie is to map out your client’s journey after they get the freebie. This would be the sales funnel – the importance of which can’t be overstated.

 

As I mentioned before, leads won’t hop on a call directly (at least most won’t). People want to know who you are before making such a commitment of their time and effort.

 

So it’s better to have a vision of what your leads will see next from you, so that they would feel compelled to talk to you.

 

Step 3: Promote your freebie.

 

Get your freebie out there by promoting them in relevant Facebook groups. Some criteria for choosing Facebook groups are:

  • They allow promotion.
  • It’s active.

 

Find 2 to 5 groups and spread your freebie to people it can help.

 

Not only that, start building relationships and authority within your niche by publishing valuable and substantial posts, and interacting with people on there, giving advice, congratulating people who share their wins, and just keeping conversation.

Step 4: Make your posts juicy.

 

Writing copy that converts is simple, but it also takes trial and error. Don’t worry if your freebie doesn't get viral or doesn’t get much engagement at first. Just keep promoting and engaging in groups.

 

Survey the people who fit your target audience, take note of how they articulate their problems, fears, and wants. And adjust your wording accordingly. The language they use is exactly how you attract them and get their attention.

 

Step 5: Respond to everyone who asked for or got your freebie.

 

Keep those lines of communication open, active, and engaging. Then just rinse and repeat.
